Frederick F. Kropp, Jr.

SAVANNAH – Frederick F. Kropp, 91, passed away peacefully at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah, GA, on January 1, 2017.
Born in Freeport, NY, he moved his family to Savannah, GA, in 1967 to help open a new aircraft manufacturing facility, today known as Gulfstream Aerospace. Fred retired in 1986 with nearly 37 years of service with the company.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a turret gunner in the U.S. Navy.
Fred was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Leona; his brother Bill, and his parents.
He is survived by a sister, Charlotte (Ed) Miller of Lake Placid, FL; children Judith Olsen of Ellabell, Diane (Ed) Cosenza of Richmond Hill, Sandra James of Midway, Darlene (Bill) Lewis of Loudon, TN, Debra (Jim) Anderson of Midway, and Denis (Amy) Kropp of Ellabell. Also grandchildren Kristin Olsen (Mike Baglio) of New York, Keri (Tom) Henderson of Rincon, Angie (Jimmy) Frye of Richmond Hill, Sonya Exley (Davie Pittman) of Rincon, Billy James of Midway, Jennifer (Dewayne) Scarborough of Rincon, Michael (Kelli) Anderson of Savannah, and Ashley Sands of Glennville; and great-grandchildren Lydia Henderson, Sophie Frye, Logan Frye, Lindsay Roberts, Brandon Exley, Brittany James, Jayda Rozell, Amanda Johnson, Kalynne Johnson, Catherine Anderson and Kelsie Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no services. A private ceremony with the family will be held at graveside.
The family extends a special thanks to the attending emergency room staff at Saint Joseph’s Hospital.
